Since 1950, Drive-In Ministries
has felt the cry from the lost segment of our society who do not come into our
churches. We have outfitted special mobile "van" units with "rear projection"
screen and projectors which allow us to go into local neighborhoods and reach
those on the streets. This effort coordinated with local churches gives the
message of hope and eternal life. Our audio and film equipped "vans" also have
the capability to draw the kids with multi-media games such as Nintendo prior to
a Christian film. It is very seldom that we don't see someone saved through our
presentations. Allen Nye, director of neighborhood ministries, also draws
neighborhood families to his "gospel magic"
presentations.
Our
mandate is clear from the words of Jesus in Luke
14:23, "Go out unto the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my
house may be filled."
Our method
of ministry is to use an attractive specially designed mobile and van units with
a huge film screen and platform or stage. Working as an outreach arm of a local
church, the ministry team may present a live program and and evangelistic film
that portrays the need to have sins forgiven and a life turned over to Jesus
Christ. An invitation is give to trust Christ as Savior and counselors begin
their work.
The
success of this concept is
indeed the work of the Holy Spirit, the power of prayer and the ability to set up
easily at the end of a street, housing project or park. It is a versatile
ministry tool that takes the Gospel to where people are. The local church then
comes in to guide and build up the new converts.
We are a mission agency
dedicated to go into the "highways and hedges" to proclaim to people of
different ethnic, cultural or economic backgrounds the common thread that Jesus
Christ is the way, the truth and the life. If you would like to be a part of
this ministry please contact us.
