The Malabar Theological
College is a small Christian College in the Malabar region of Kerala, in the
most southern area of India. Unlike most of India, Kerala State is a coastal
tropical region heavily wooded and green with thousands of palm, trees, banana
trees, rubber trees and more. An hour inland and into the hill country is the
Malabar area and home to the college and its founders James Vargeese and Dr.
V.V. Thomas.
In 2003 Dr. Thomas contacted Drive-hi Director Terry Lytle
through a mutual friend. Correspondence began and in a short time Terry and Mike
Jones were on their way to India to meet with the men, see the college and
determine if Drive-In should establish a ministry in India with the Malabar
theological College.
The trip and meetings were positive and productive.
Not only was the decision made to work with these men, but also a van was
purchased and plans were begun to return and outfit the new Mobile Unit for
ministry.
In March of 2004, Mike is scheduled to return to India with the
needed equipment, equip the Unit, train the teams and place the Unit into
service. Please pray for the successful completion of the Unit and for fruitful
ministry in years to come.
